Charles "Bud" Hansmeyer Obituary

Charles “Bud” Hansmeyer Sr. age 89, of Algonquin, IL. passed away at the Pearl of Elgin on September 15 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on May 23, 1935. He was preceded by his loving parents, Henry and Beatrice Hansmeyer who lovingly served the Lord in the Salvation Army. He served his country in the US. Army during the Korean War Era. He loved his family, fishing, and garage sales. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears and Chicago Cub fan. Two of his greatest sports memories was going the 1985 Chicago Bears Super Bowl, with one of his many lifelong friends Bill Schrieber. Also, seeing this beloved Cubs win the 2016 World Series. He worked 35 years at White Cap.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Linda “Mattingly” Hansmeyer. His children, Tom “Joanne” Marcotte, Tina Spath “Late Tim Spath Sr.”, Debbie Hansmeyer, Jeff Marcotte, “ Sabirna”, and Charles Hansmeyer Jr. “Linda “. His grandchildren, Timi Spath Jr. “Allison”, Shanna Carpenter “ Lindsay”, Charles Hansmeyer III “ Stephanie”, Breanna Hansmeyer “ Kevin”, Jessie Hansmeyer, “ Matt”, and Lisa Marcotte “Manny”. His great-grandchildren, Holden, Ella, Georgie and Peyton, along with two more great-grandchildren on the way.

Cremation rites were held privately.
