Bruce Lawrence Becker age 84, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away on September 20, 2025 at Huntley Hospital in Huntley. Loving husband of the late Barbara Becker, father of Kathryn (Kendall) Bradley, Bruce Jr. Becker (Maureen Terry), Ross Edelmann, Robin Edelmann, and Kerry Mullins; cherished grandfather of Connor Bradley, Collin Bradley, Melissa Todd, Nicole Becker, Marissa Herzog and Mya Herzog; proud great grandfather of Liam Todd and Bella Todd. Son of the late Irene Held Becker, brother to Barbara Becker, Carole (Gerald) Hollander, the late Elaine (Butch) Kadow, Fred (Annie McKenney-Becker) Becker, Susan Becker, and uncle to Laura (Scott) McPherson and Dawn Becker.
Bruce was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 27, 1940. He was strong willed and always had a joke or two to share. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961 and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Award. Bruce worked as a carpenter his entire life and this was his passion. Upon his retirement he continued to do handywork around the house. One of his proudest accomplishments was the work he did to help restore the old Ford School house in Lake in the Hills which is now a historical site. In his free time, he enjoyed building model airplanes, shopping on Amazon and playing pogo on the computer.
Inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois with a Celebration of Life to be scheduled soon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Speedway Children's Charities (Atlanta Chapter).
