Betty Jean Jachniw

Betty Jean Jachniw passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026 in West Dundee. Born September 14, 1931 in Chicago to the late John and Mary Hnatiuk.  Beloved wife of the late Paul Jachniw; loving mother of the late Maria Jachniw, Cathy (Ron) Ingalls and Dave (Teri); caring grandmother of Angela (Henry) Traverso and Alyssa Jachniw; proud great grandmother of Juliet and Gemma.

Betty will be remembered as a loving, caring person. She faithfully and generously served those around her and was a founding member of the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she spent much of her free time.  Betty also enjoyed baking but above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Please join us in honoring Betty Jachniw on Tuesday February 17, 2026 for a time of visitation at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church 116 E. Illinois Ave. Palatine IL 60067. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30.  Entombment to immediately follow.
