Barbara Laura Sheehan

Barbara Laura Sheehan, at the age of 58, of Algonquin, Illinois passed on June 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born October 20, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Emilie Sue and Aloysious James Malkowski. She was married on October 25, 1993 to Michael L Sheehan. She and her husband enjoyed time with family more than anything and taking the kids on vacation. Barb worked at United Airlines for over 35 years, in many different roles starting in the flight kitchen and most recently in customer service at O’Hare airport. In her role in customer service, she enjoyed interacting with the flight crews and the customers in a very challenging, but rewarding, atmosphere and she had the personality to excel at it. She was an amazing baker, cook and candy maker. There was never a holiday or event that she missed an opportunity to share her delicious treats. Our holiday tables will never be the same. Barb always made sure everyone was included and would go out of her way to make you feel special.

She is survived by her husband, Mike and her children, Michelle, Mary and Tommy, her brothers, Jim and Dave and sister, Cheryl (Jami). She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, Amber, Jaime, Brandon T, Austin, Michael, Dylan, Justin, Dana, McKenna, Michelle M, Angelica, Brandon M, and Jimmy and great-nieces, and great-nephews, Emilie, Annabella, Everett, Bernadette, and Alonzo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilie Sue and Aloysious James Malkowski.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin., followed with a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 11:00 AM at the Church.

Interment will follow at Dundee Twp. Cemetery - East.
