Barbara Jean Simmons

Barbara Jean Simmons age 69, most recently of West Chicago, Illinois and formerly of Streamwood and Burbank, Illinois passed away on November 12, 2023.

Barbara’s Catholic family surrounded her with comfort, peace & love in her final days. Family meant the world to her. She had a sweet disposition and a kind spirit. Barbara had a sense of humor and loved to laugh. Some of her favorite things were listening to music and dancing. had the most courageous and powerful will to live, until she felt ready to go home to God in Heaven.

Barbara was a servant of God, as she volunteered her time and service at Christ Hospital (Oak Lawn) and St. Alexius Medical Center (Hoffman Estates). In her earlier years, she worked for several retail stores. Her expertise as a customer service representative was a true example of always wanting to help others.

Barbara is survived by her beloved sister, Margaret “Peg” (Michael) Marciniak; her nephew, Richard (Allison) Rajewski, her niece, Tracie (William) Adams; her great nephews, William Adams, Blake Adams and Eric (Dominika) Knight; her great-great nephew, Oliver.

Barbara Jean was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Margaret (Grogan) Simmons, her sister, JoAnn Simmons and her brother, John Simmons.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 8:30 AM until time of a 10:00 AM prayer service from the Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., Algonquin and proceed to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 AM.

Please meet directly at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 So. Wolf Rd., in Hillside, Illinois. (Please enter the cemetery off of Wolf Rd., and assemble directly in front of the cemetery office at 1:15 PM.)

A memorial luncheon will follow the cemetery service at Alpine Banquet House, 11141 W. Roosevelt Rd., Westchester, allowing guests to arrive at 1:30 PM.
