Arash Khalili

Arash Khalii, born October 31, 1995, passed away after a long, brave, and hard-fought battle against brain cancer.  He is survived by his parents, Mahmoud and Lily, his brother, Arya, his girlfriend, Megan, his aunt and uncle, Roya and Mehdi, his cousins, Mehron and Homayoon, along with a countless number of family and friends. 

 It has been said that what is important is not the years in your life but the life in your years.  Whether it was his unconditional bond with Arya, his love for Megan, his devotion to his parents, or his relationship with his family and friends, Arash lived his life filling every moment with as much living as possible.  His love for life and travel was above only his love for sports and music.  If he wasn’t leaving his footprint around the world, he could be found cheering for his beloved Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Newcastle United or co-hosting a podcast with his friend; two Chicago guys talking about all things hip-hop. He found the most enjoyment traveling at home and abroad exploring different cultures and eating some of the best food the world had to offer.  While there is today a space on earth that can never be filled, there was a void in heaven that is now filled with the brightest light.

 Arash graduated in the class 2017 from the University of Illinois with high honors and being named a bronze tablet with his name forever engraved within the university library. 

 A celebration of Arash’s life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.)  Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
