Anthony "Tony" Wnek Obituary

Anthony Joseph "Tony" Wnek age 57, of Lake in the Hills, IL  passed away on December 16, 2021. He was born in Chicago, illinois on July 18, 1964, the loving son of Kathleen (Rago) Wnek and Richard H. Wnek.

He is survived by his beloved and dedicated wife, Carol A. (Gerlach) Wnek; his loving mother, Kathleen Rago; his dear sister, Lisa (Kevin) McPherson; his fond nieces and nephew, Ashley (Sean) Bachman, Melanie (Patrick) Foley, Parker McPherson and Thomas (Karen) Zaharakis; his great-niece, Olivia; Carol's mother, Lottie Gerlach; his sister-in-law, Patricia (Michael Tiegs) Zaharakis; his brother-in-law, William (Simone) Gerlach; great-niece, Lily Walsh and a dear friend to many.

Anthony was a lead pressman for over 20 years and worked for Moss Printing. He loved being around family. He spent many days playing cards and sharing his wonderful sense of humor with all. He enjoyed golf, the Chicago White Sox, and relaxing evenings staring out over the water at the family Lake house with the sounds of Jimmy Buffet floating across the breeze. He will be sorely missed by his faithful rescue dogs Buddy and Daisy. His canine best friends.

Anthony was preceded in death by his loving father, Richard H. Wnek, his nephew, Matthew Gerlach and Carol's father, William Gerlach.
 

a memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin, from 10:00 AM until the time of a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 AM. (Kindly omit flowers from being sent to the church).
