Amy Therese (Schaefers) Gierlak, age 53, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on June 7, 2022. Dearest wife of Tom; beloved mother of Jake and Nick Gierlak; loving daughter of Richard and Mary Schaefers; dear sister of Ann (Dan) Coles, John Schaefers, Steve (Cindy) Schaefers, Dave (Kathryn) Schaefers, Scott (Colleen) Schaefers and Julie (Chris) Zell; sister in law of Dan (Amy) Gierlak, David (Jennifer) Gierlak and Kathleen (Jim) Ziemer; loving aunt of Madelyn, Brian, Ben, Megan, Lily,  Noah, Charlie, Mary Jean, Andrew, Johnny, Eileen, Timmy, and Lauren and Alex, Lauren and Joe, Sophie and Piercy and Michael and Christine.

Amy’s passion in life was lovingly helping and ALWAYS doing for others, which were MANY, especially for her sons and husband. She was a caretaker her entire life, and as of late for her loving parents. She cherished spending time with family and friends and ALWAYS was the JOY and warmth of any gathering. Visitation will be held at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 1415 W. Algonquin Rd, (one half mile east of Randall Rd.), Algonquin, IL 60102 on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM. (evening prayer service Wednesday at 7:00 PM). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St, Algonquin, IL 60102, on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM., with Fr. Terrence A. McCarthy as the celebrant.
