Amber (Slayton) Holper, 34, of Lake in the Hills, IL passed away on March 31, 2021 after a long courageous battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was born on April 3, 1986 in Hammondsport, NY, the daughter of Tim Slayton and Tammy (Healy, Passero) Slayton.
She is survived by her super supportive and loving husband, Robert Holper; the child that she took on as her own and loved more than the world, Sophia Holper; step-son that she loved immensely, Ryan Holper; her lap dog, Emma; father, Tim (Kellie Monroy) Slayton; mother, Tammy (Brad Green) Slayton; and sister from another mother, Keri (Wilkinson) Cummings.
Anyone who knew Amber knew what an incredibly strong-willed, full of life person she was. She was the most amazing wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. To be in her circle was a good place to be.
We ask that you not mourn her loss, but celebrate the good memories you have of her and remember her beautiful spirit and how she lived life to the fullest. She would want you to remember that life is fragile and you, too, should live life to the fullest.
Amber enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, cooking, event planning and spending time with family and friends. She also had a special gift of always telling people exactly what she thought.
Amber is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Linda Hill (Adams) and her paternal grandfather, George Slayton.
A Celebration of Life gathering for Amber will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Hammondsport, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made in Amber's name to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
