Adela Korecki (Salas) age 90, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on March 26, 2025. She was born in Cordoba, Argentina the loving daughter of Abraham and Fodda Salas. An avid cook, Adela was the owner of the popular Edella’s Restaurant in Algonquin, which she ran from 1993-2006.
In 1960, she married the love of her life, Eduardo Korecki, and the two recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. She especially adored her grandchildren – and great grandchild – and constantly doted on them.
Adela delighted in her garden; growing tomatoes and pumpkins in her backyard with her husband and filling her home with beautiful plants and flowers.
Adela never met a person she didn’t want to feed, and every meal was crafted from scratch, with her unmatched special touch.
She faithfully worshipped at St. Margaret Mary and never a missed Midnight Mass before Christmas.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Eduardo Korecki; her loving children, Alexandra (Sim) Wilford, Elisabeth Ambroiggio and Natasha (Robert McCoppin) Korecki; her proud grandchildren, Ashley (Sam) Berry, Matthew Wilford, Anthony Ambroiggio, Daniel and Cormac McCoppin; her cherished great-granddaughter, Alice Berry; her sisters, Matilde (the late Arquimedes) Romero and Isabel (the late Nick) Nikolic.
She was predeceased by her parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 with a "Family only visitation" from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and a public visitation form 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM along with a prayer service at 5:00 PM that afternoon all at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
