Richard J. “Rick” Geary age 61, of Lake in the Hills, formerly of Chicago, passed away on November 29, 2019. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 30, 1958 to Charles and Marie (Intravartolo) Geary.
He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a regular patron and supporter to our local American Legion Posts throughout the McHenry County area.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Geary (Ritacco); his son, Victory Geary; his step-son, Jason Eaves; his step-daughter, Ashley (Josh) Roy; his 4 step-grandchildren; his siblings, Charles Geary, Denise (Steve) Daudelin, Michael (Gini) Geary, and Sean (Michelle) Geary; he is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie (Intravartolo) Geary; his maternal grandparents, Lena Trankina and Louie Intravartolo; his paternal grandparents, Margaret Carden and Maurice Geary and his sister, Deanna Geary; he was a dear friend to many.
​Rick was a very adventurous person who enjoyed doing things outdoors. He was an avid motorcycle rider, he also enjoyed camping and fishing.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8. 2019 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a prayer service and a Military Funeral Honors presentation under the auspices of the U.S. Army that afternoon to begin at 3:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin.
Cremation rites will be accorded privately.
A private family inurnment will take place at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery Columbarium in Hillside, Illinois at a later date.
