Per Pedersen

Per Pedersen age 84, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away at his home on May 5, 2019. He was born Per Vea in Karmøy, Norway on May 12, 1934 the beloved son of Peder and Serine Vea; 

Per is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Else (Jonasen); his sister Ingfried (Kåre) Langvoll; his beloved children, Ellen (Mark) Moser, Shirley (Tom) Hill, Steven (Vicki) Pedersen and Erica Reining; his proud grandchildren Karl (Kristen) Moser, Lauren (Chris) Lichterman, Derek (Ashley) Moser, Tara (Matt) Winterbottom, Eric (Lauren) Hill, Collen and Krista Pedersen, Gavin and Serina Reining; his cherished great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ainsley Moser, Skylar and Grayson Lichterman, and Emma Hill; as well as his many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Norway. Per was preceded in death by his siblings Kristi, Karina, Sievert, Ingvald, Solvieg, Bjarne, and Elbjorg.

Per left Norway to join the Merchant Marines at a young age and after traveling to many ports around the world and sending much of his money back to his mother. He made a final move to the United States where he obtained his green card and became a Union Carpenter in Local 181. He was a carpenter by trade throughout his life until his retirement. He was a fan of long daily walks, Hawaiian shirts, sitting in the sun, and large plates of meat and potatoes or other Norwegian home style foods; and of course watching his favorite team the Chicago Bears.

A memorial visitation for Per will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with words of Remembrance to be shared at 5:00 PM that afternoon at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.

Cremation rites were accorded privately.
