Millicent “Millie” Prahl (nee Laskowski) 71, of Carpentersville, IL passed away May 16, 2018.
A lifelong resident of Illinois, Millie graduated from Alvernia High School in Chicago, got married and raised her family in Elk Grove Village. A hard-working single mother, she taught dance lessons and went on to earn her degree in Computer Science at Roosevelt University. Over the course of her career she worked as a Systems Programmer and Project Manager at Allstate, Motorola, Grainger, Discover, and Cooper Lighting.
Millie was a generous and fun-loving person who enjoyed good times with family and friends. She was the life of the party and enjoyed cooking, hosting family parties, and telling funny stories. She is survived and lovingly remembered by; son David (Kristen) Prahl, daughter Laura Rowell, son-in-law Jeff Brodnicki, sister Mary (Dan) Brzozowski, brother Michael (Irma) Laskowski, her 7 grandchildren; Ryan Abramic, Chelsea (Evan) Sanders, Linnea (Scott) Eschenbaum, Michael Prahl, Jack Prahl, Tyler Henry and Griffin Henry, great-grandchildren; Raylee Eschenbaum and Emma Sanders, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Prahl, second husband Terry Thalen, and her parents Mack and Mae Laskowski.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
