Michael J. O’Malley age 68, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on June 10, 2019 at Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley, Illinois with his loving family at his side.
He was born on August 30, 1950 to his loving parents, Patrick and Bridget (Kerrigan) O’Malley.
Mike was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Vietnam War era and was a Purple Heart Recipient.
He was a proud member of the VFW Post # 5915 of Carpentersville and a proud member of the American Legion Post # 1231 of Lake in the Hills.
He worked as a Union Glazier with Local 27
He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie A. (DeRose) O’Malley; his loving daughters, Colleen (Vytenis) Bickauskas and Holly (GySgt. Arthur) Padilla, U.S.M.C.; his cherished grandchildren, Mckenzie, Noah, Antonio, Aurora and Vivian; his sisters, Ann Perdue, Mary Embree and Bridie French; he was an uncle to many nieces & nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Patrick O’Malley and Martin O’Malley.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd. (one mile east of Randall Rd.), Algonquin. (VFW Carpentersville Post #5915 Honors Ceremony at 7:00 PM)
Family & friends will meet at the (Public Information Center) on Friday, June 21, 2019 for a 12 noon procession and Committal Service with Full Military Funeral Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, Illinois.
