Kathleen Margaret Alger

Kathleen Margaret Alger (nee Macicari) age 59, of Leland, North Carolina, formerly of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away on June 29, 2019, peacefully, with her husband, Thomas, by her side.
 

She was born in Elmwood Park, Illinois on August 11, 1959 to James Jr. and Mary Ellen Hansen Macicari.
 

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Thomas Alger; her sons, Adam (Heather) Alger and Brian (Bethany) Alger,  grandsons, Aidan Alger and Henry Alger, father, James Macicari, Jr.;  siblings Susan (Andy) Feo, James Macicari, III, Tina Macicari;  Karl (Cristine) Falkstrom, Amy (Scott) Hill, Jillian (Tim) Priehs, Mary Cruz and Rick Macicari and many nieces and nephews.
 

Kathleen graduated from Elmwood Park High School, Class of 1977.  Immediately after HS, she began work at Motorola Automotive Products Group doing receptionist and secretarial activities where she met her future husband Tom. They married in 1981, and raised 2 sons in Prairie Grove - Crystal Lake, Illinois.
 

While mainly a homemaker, she also was a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics and held various part time secretarial positions.  Kathleen and Tom then purchased Prem Enterprises in McHenry, Il in 2003 where she was Partner and Office Manager.  Kathleen and Thomas then retired and relocated to Leland, NC, in 2013.
 

Kathleen enjoyed bowling and tennis (her first dates with Tom were on tennis courts and bowling lanes), she enjoyed many youth baseball, basketball and football games with her sons, golfing at the McHenry Country Club, and family vacations.  She loved spending time with her many siblings, nieces, nephews, family and neighbors.
 

After relocating to NC, Kathleen became very active at Brunswick Forest and Compass Pointe communities including card clubs, book clubs, golf, tennis and bowling.  Kathleen also was a member of the Steel Magnolias and Compass Pointe women's golf association and captained the CP women's Hope Harbor team.

Visitation for Kathleen will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., Algonquin, Illinois, (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin, Illinois 60102.
 

Additional visitation on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 1:00 PM prior to the 2:00 PM service at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry, Illinois, with Pastor Thomas E. Rogers, Jr. Officiating.

Interment will be private.
